Student Life
At LBC, the relationships among students and between students
and faculty are some of the most important aspects of the Bible
College education. Although most students commute to the campus, all
are encouraged to participate in campus life in order to establish a
support group of students and faculty who may be of aid in current
studies and in future ministries. Student
CARE (Challenge, Assistance, Reltationships, Encouragement) is
provided to meet these needs. LBC believes that your education
is about more than classroom studies. Only with a network of
Christian mentors and friends can a Christian be effective in
vocational ministry. This development of relationships lies at the
heart of the Louisville Bible College atmosphere.
Spiritual Life and Christian Service
LBC has a genuine concern for the spiritual growth of each
member of the college community. As a Christian institution, the
college has a much higher goal than simply instilling textbook
material in the minds of students. LBC is committed to equipping
students to apply the Scripture in their daily lives. In keeping
with this goal, LBC expects students to lead a lifestyle that
exemplifies the life to which Christ has called his disciples. The
college has set the following standards to encourage student growth
not only through classroom instruction, but also through practical
application of the principles of Scripture.
Every degree seeking student and all campus residents must
participate in the Christian Service program every semester they are
enrolled. Each student is responsible for finding a place to serve
and a supervisor at the respective place of service. Both of these
must be approved by the College Administration. The student will
spend at least one hour per week in this placement. Students who
fail to fulfill this requirement during the regular semester will be
required to register for Christian Service during the summer and pay
the registration fee. The Board of Regents may refuse to grant a
degree to anyone who fails to satisfy this requirement.
Chapel Services
Chapel is considered a part of every student’s regular
curriculum and is part of the Christian Service requirement. Chapel
services are developed to meet the students’ needs and are intended
to be a truly inspirational time. All students are expected to be in
attendance at chapel if they have class immediately before or after
the chapel service. Students living on campus are required to attend
all chapel services.
Student Handbook
Students are expected to follow the dress, behavioral, and other
guidelines as found in the Student
Handbook. On-campus students are also to abide by the school's
curfew hours and housing rules. These may be obtained from the
Registrar's Office.
Recreation
Various indoor recreational items such as ping-pong, board
games, and television are available for the students' relaxation.
Additionally, there is an outdoor basketball court for student
use.
